The Odyssey is the vehicle that generates the most J35 enquiries, for a simple reason: minivans accumulate miles quickly, they stay in service a long time, and by the time the engine fails the vehicle is worth considerably less than a dealer engine quote.

Which J35 depends on the generation. The 1999–2004 cars use the J35A4, the 2005–2010 cars the J35A7, and later cars a range of J35Z variants. Intake and accessory layout differ across those.

Two things dominate the buying decision. Cylinder deactivation, Variable Cylinder Management, is present on some variants and is something a number of owners specifically want to avoid.
