Infiniti shares Nissan’s VQ V6, which makes the supply deep and the application question the one that matters.
The Infiniti models that generate engine enquiries here, the G35, FX35, I35 and JX35, all use versions of the Nissan VQ35DE. That shared lineage means the used supply is much deeper than the badge alone would suggest.
It also means the same two traps apply: distinguishing the VQ35DE from the later VQ35HR, and matching the right application rather than the right family.
Rear-drive and front-drive VQ35DEs are different parts
The G35 is a rear-drive car with a longitudinally mounted engine. The I35 and JX35 are front-drive with the engine mounted transversely. The sump, accessory drive and mounting all differ between those arrangements.
So a VQ35DE from an Altima is not automatically a G35 part, and vice versa. The engine code narrows the search; the VIN finishes it.
The "Rev-up" VQ35DE fitted to certain G35 applications is a further distinction again. A higher-compression specification that is not identical to the standard unit.

Yes. The VQ35DE in a G35 or FX35 is the same engine family fitted to the Altima, Maxima, Murano and 350Z. The application differs. Sump, accessories and mounting vary between front-drive and rear-drive cars, so the shared family widens the search without completing it.
What is the difference between the VQ35DE and VQ35HR?
They are different engines that share a displacement and a name. The HR has a different deck height, different cylinder heads and a different accessory layout, and it will not substitute for a DE. Confirm which one a listing describes before buying.
