Mitsubishi JDM Engines in Phoenix, Arizona

Mitsubishi demand here is concentrated almost entirely on one engine family, and mostly on its turbocharged version.

The 4G63 accounts for nearly all Mitsubishi engine interest in this market. The naturally aspirated versions appeared in a range of ordinary Mitsubishi models; the turbocharged 4G63T powered the Lancer Evolution and the Diamond-Star Motors cars: the Eclipse, Talon and Laser.

Other Mitsubishi engines can be sourced on request, but they are handled case by case rather than from published pages.

Three engines wearing one code

The Lancer Evolution 4G63T is a high-specification build with a forged rotating assembly and is priced accordingly. The DSM-era 4G63T is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four with the same code and different internals. Naturally aspirated 4G63 units are a different proposition again.

All three appear in listings as "4G63". Establishing which one is on offer is the first question rather than a detail. The value spread across those groups is larger than the price of many complete engines.

Which vehicle is the engine for?

Year, make and model get us most of the way. Trim matters more than people expect. A 2008 Civic is a different engine depending on whether it is an Si.

LX, EX, Si, Type-S, V6. Whatever is on the badge.

Know your engine code? Add it here.

If you do not, leave these blank. That is genuinely fine. Working out which engine a vehicle takes is the part we do. Here is where the code is stamped if you want to look.

We do not confirm that an engine fits your vehicle until it has been checked against it.

Common questions

Is an Evo 4G63T the same as a DSM 4G63T?

No. Both are turbocharged 2.0-litre 4G63 engines, but the Lancer Evolution units are a higher specification with different internals and supporting hardware. A listing that says only "4G63T" has not told you which one it is, and the price difference is substantial.

Can you source other Mitsubishi engines?

Yes, on request. The 4G63 is the only Mitsubishi family with a page here because it is the only one where the research supported publishing one. Other requests are handled case by case: send the year, model, trim and VIN.
